Alzheimers Gisborne Tairawhiti provides information, advice and support for people diagnosed with dementia and their families. A centre operates 3 days a week for people with dementia to engage in social activities, exercises and encouragement to live their lives to the full.
Arohaina means "Love in Action" or "Compassion", and this is reflected in The Arohaina Centre Mission Statement: "Full quality of life and independent living for older people in the Gisborne District" Our Coordinators work with a team of volunteers to provide help and support to elders in our community.
