GISCOSS (Gisborne East Coast Council of Social Services) formed in 1990 as a place for those working in our community to meet and discuss the needs in our community and how they could help. Some of these discussions were had with small groups, others with government officials to help support our community. Now 33 years later these meetings are still an important part of our community, helping to isolate issues and coming up with ideas of how to resolve them. Sometimes this is a local issue, others a government issue. We are here for all of them to ensure those in our community have access to what is needed in our community.

Gisborne Care and Craft has been operating in Gisborne for over 33 years. Dot McCulloch has been leading this for many years, and would love to have more attendees and more volunteers. Te Kupenga Net Trust has a partnership with Hauora Tairawhiti, this is setup to support whanau in distress to support them and help them find a way through distress. Ask for a referral from your healthcare professional or walk in for an appointment.

Stroke Tairawhiti is a local not for profit organisation who provides rehabilitation support programs, information, advice and advocacy to improve outcomes for the Stroke Community. Stroke Tairawhiti relies on local donations and grants to keep these great facilities operating in Tairawhiti for Tairawhiti.
